My Sweet Talker

Matt and I have been waiting for Elizabeth to start talking for awhile now....we'll the wait is over! Elizabeth has been talking so much lately. It seems that every day she starts to say something new.

Just this week, Elizabeth has started to say "Nope", "Cute", "Do Da Dukes" (which translates to Daisy Dukes), "TV" and "Pretty".

We are so excited to hear her little voice. Each new word brings us so much joy.

Here are a list words that Elizabeth can say... mommy, daddy, grandma, papa, MeMe, Pablo, hat, socks, shoes, coat, knee, food, cheese, bowl, cold, whoa, wee, poop, pee pee, coke, piz piz (translates to pizza), up, ball, baby, beep, doot doot (which translates to binkie), book, door, pretty, no, yes, nope, boo boo, peaches, that, go, yummy, hi, oh, pop tart, boot boot (which translates to Pirate Booty, a treat from Costco), Me, teeth, dirty, piece, show, bye bye, feet, see, TV, shoes, and juice.

Elizabeth also knows a lot of animal sounds. She can imitate a monkey, duck, cow, dog, cat, elephant, bird and lion.

It has been so fun to see Elizabeth learn and grow. Each and every day Matt and I are humbled when we think about what a blessing Elizabeth is to us. She has changed our lives forever...and we wouldn't have it any other way. She is our world!

March Scrapbooking Club

Today I went to my first Scrapbooking Club. It was so fun and the projects were absolutely darling. One of my good friends, Carolyn designed ten one-page layouts for us to make. We used the Love Sparkles Simply Scrappin' Kit and the Sweet Always Designer Series Paper. It was so fun to get out of the house, enjoy an afternoon with friends...and get some scrapbooking done in the process.

Here are the cute layouts that we made. I plan on making coordinating pages for each of the layouts, with the tons of paper and stickers that we had left over!

Knitted Baby Mary-Janes

Aren't these the cutest little shoes you have ever seen?

I was so excited when I walked into Kamille's at Gardner Village and saw these darling little shoes. I signed up for the class and counted down the weeks until it would be time to go and learn how to make them. We'll the time finally arrived...and the class was so fun! The class was held on March 4th and March 11th.

This project required a lot of counting and you had to watch the patter really close. BUT it was totally worth it. They are so adorable. I made the Toddler size 2 for Elizabeth (size 5 shoe) but another girl in the class made the 0-3 month size. I almost died when I saw how little and cute the smaller size was. The shoes are knit on straight needles and then sewn together. I was so excited to complete this project. They are the cutest on my sweet little Elizabeth.

Supplies Used:
Size US 2 Straight Knitting Needles
Size US 2 Double Pointed Needles
Debbie Bliss Baby Cashmerino Yarn

Congratulations Michael and Kris!

Ruffled Scarf

My sister-in-law Tifani gave me the idea for this fun scarf. She made one...and it turned out so cute that I had to make one for myself. I love how feminine and flirty it is! It was such a fun little project. I am definitely going to have to make a few more as gifts.

Today was a Good Day!

Elizabeth and I slept in until 9:00am and then headed out to our Gymboree class. We had lots of fun playing with all of the other babies. We pretending to be ducks. We arrived home, had a snack and watched the Backyardigans. Elizabeth napped...I scrapbooked.

As Elizabeth woke-up from her nap...it started to snow outside. We decided to eat our lunch sitting next to the big window that faces out the front of our house. We ate Chicken Stew with noodles...and watched the snow.

Later in the day, Elizabeth and I danced and twirled. It was great to see her smile and hear her giggles. I was able to clean our loft, wash the dishes, and complete a couple of loads of laundry. A productive day always makes me happy!

I made Orange Chicken and Potstickers for dinner. We ate it and did not die...so it turned out well!

Tonight, while Elizabeth slept, I got to scrapbook some more while belting Alanis Morrisette songs as loud as my voice would go.

...Today was a Good Day!

Let the Countdown Begin...

Only one more month until my sweet little Elizabeth turns two years old. I just cannot believe it. Time sure does fly. Including today, there are 31 days until my baby's birthday.

Elizabeth is doing great. She is a happy and energetic little girl. She loves to dance, sing, and run around. Her Papa always asks me, "does she ever walk!". She is talking more and LOVES babies. If there is a baby anywhere near her, she yells "Baby" and tries to give them a kiss. It is the sweetest thing...but can get a little embarrassing when she runs up to perfect strangers with her lips puckered!

Elizabeth is such a blessing in my life. I love her more than words can express. She is a ray of sunshine that brightens up each and every day. I am so happy to be able to stay home with her. My world has not been the same since she entered it almost two years ago.

The Perfect 40 Minutes

I just got done snuggling with and rocking Elizabeth in the rocking chair in her nursery. She is freshly bathed and smelled yummy. The lights were off and the room was quiet.

Life does not get any better.
