Today we were able to meet up with some good friends at a local splash pad. It has been so hot, so we welcomed the opportunity to beat the heat and play in the water.
Zachary was so excited to have a chance to play with Luke. He came into my room at 6:00am wearing his swimming suit. He had packed a backpack with his towel, a water bottle, and a snack. He was a little sad to find out that there was still 6 and 1/2 hours until we were scheduled to meet up.
Elizabeth is such a little fish. She LOVES the water and always is so happy while splashing around.
I thought that it was funny that when she stood in the middle of a water spout she would plug her nose. Silly girl!
I love this photograph of Zachary and his crazy water shoes. He picked them out this year and they form around each of his individual toes.
We are so grateful for Luke. He is such a great friend to Zachary. I hope that they will remain friends for life!
Elizabeth was so brave. She would stand right in the middle of a water sprout and wait for the water to start spraying. It was so fun to hear her squeals each time she would get sprayed.
Zachary was definitely more timid and would just watch the water spray from a distance. Every once in a while he would turn around and shake his butt at the water. Not quite sure what he was going for with that one!
I love these two munchkins! They are so fun and fill my life with such joy.
Elizabeth and Savanna invented a game where they would place a rubber ducky on the waterspout, and then jump when the water came out. I was told that they were trying to see who would go higher, them or the rubber ducky.
Not gonna lie...Elizabeth spent most of the afternoon running around like a crazy person!
Seriously...I love these kids! Could they be any cuter? I am so grateful for the time that we had to spend together doing something fun!
I am also grateful for the Welch Family and for their friendship! We cannot wait until our next excursion together. We are thinking the Seven Peaks in Provo in a couple of weeks!

Rocky Mouth Trail
As part of our neighborhood Summer Hiking Club we hiked the Rocky Mouth Trail this morning. It was a great short hike and was shaded most of the way. We started out by climbing about 40 of these wooden stairs.
Once at the top of the stairs, it widened to a beautiful neighborhood street. Not exactly what we were expecting. There were million-dollar homes with beautiful views of the valley below. Elizabeth exclaimed, "These are houses, I thought they were hotels!". In between two of the house was the path to the trail...and more climbing!
We followed a well-marked path and even got to see a couple of caves. Elizabeth was convinced that there were rattlesnakes inside so she would glance inside while standing at the entrance.
At the end of the trail, there was a beautiful waterfall. The kids had a blast climbing and splashing around in the run-off. The water was cool and felt good in between our toes!
Elizabeth was very brave and climbed right up next to the waterfall. It made my heart so happy to see her with a huge smile on her face.
I am so grateful for the time I was able to spend with Zachary and Elizabeth. We had a great time exploring and enjoying the sunshine.
We spent about a half an hour playing in the waterfall and then enjoyed a snack before hiking back towards the car. This was a great little hike that easily could be done in about an hour.
We cannot wait until next week to see what adventures wait for us on our next hike!
