Princess Tea Party

Elizabeth and I were able to attend a Princess Tea Party today. We have been looking forward to this event for a while now. Elizabeth was so excited when I told her that today was the day that we would be heading to the Hogle Zoo for our tea party. She immediately put on her princess gown and tiara so that we could leave for the event.


When we arrived, we waited in line for a couple of minutes before the doors were opened. It was so fun to see all of the little princess waiting for the event to begin. As we proceeded in, we were greeted and bowed to, all while music announced our arrival. As we got to our seats, we noticed that the tables were decorated so nicely and that there were yummy treats awaiting us!


Within minutes, Princess Amerah arrived and came to greet each of her guests. Elizabeth whispered to me, "Mommy, she is so beautiful!". Princess Amerah talked with us for awhile. She asked Elizabeth what her favorite color is, to which Elizabeth answered "green", and told us that her favorite color is purple.


Princess Amerah also gave each of us a flower before heading off to mingle with her other guests. Elizabeth was so excited that her flower was green. She turned to me and said, "Mommy, she got me my favorite color!".


Once done mingling, Princess Amerah asked all of the little princesses to gather around for story time. She told a story called "Princess Amerah and the Magic Dress". It was a story of her life and about some of the things she has accomplished. She sang songs and taught all of the princesses how to dance and twirl.


After story time, Elizabeth decorated her very own tiara. She drew some fishes, an ocean, and even some cupcakes!


Before leaving, Elizabeth had to get her portrait taken with Princess Amerah. Elizabeth thanked her for the story and the treats and let Princess Amerah know that we would come and visit her again....very soon!

Kids Say The Darndest Things...

I swear every day Elizabeth says something that makes me think, "where did she come up with that?". She is adorable and funny...and definitely keeps me on my toes! Here are a couple examples from this week.

• Elizabeth entered my bedroom with her head down, shoulders shrugged, something in her hand, and a definite grump on her face. When I asked her what was wrong, she looked at me and said, "I want a picture of my Papa...but all I have is this picture of Jesus!".

• Elizabeth came downstairs wearing a princess dress-up and a tiara. She turned to me and said, "Mommy, a girl's got to have a proper prince! Do you think that Papa will marry me?"

Mommy-Daughter Day

Today, Elizabeth and I had an official "Mommy-Daughter" Day. Our Homeowners Association was sponsoring a "Day at the Movies" so I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to sneak away for some one-on-one time with my little girl!


After dropping Zachary off at Grandma and Papa's house, we headed to American Fork for our fun adventure. Elizabeth was so happy to be able to see Tangled again in the theatres. Elizabeth received a kid's pack with popcorn, root beer, and some yummy candy.


I had such a great time with Elizabeth. It was so nice to be able to sneak away and spend some time together. Elizabeth is such a sweet, happy, girl and I loved being able to focus all of my attention on her. Hopefully we will be able to have "Mommy-Daughter" Days more often!

Let's Celebrate!

This week, Elizabeth, Zachary and I attended Disney On Ice with Grandma and Papa. This has become a fun tradition that we look forward to each time the ice show comes to town. The morning of the show, Elizabeth came downstairs and found a new Ariel dress-up with accessories. She was so excited to get all dressed up and to leave for the Energy Solutions Arena.


The theme of the ice show was "Let's Celebrate!". They focused on celebrating many of the holidays and events that are celebrated around the world. Elizabeth thought is was so scary when Jack Skeleton and the Disney Villains came out to celebrate a Halloween Haunt.


We even celebrated an "Unbirthday" with Alice.


Elizabeth loved seeing each of the princesses during the Royal Ball. It was so cute to watch her face light up when each of them skated onto the ice. She knew all of their names and announced them as they arrived. We got to see Ariel and Eric, Jasmine and Aladdin, Belle and the Beast, Cinderella and Prince Charming, Snow White and her Prince, Tiana with Prince Naveen and Mulan with Captain Shang. Even Mickey and Minnie got all dressed-up and came to enjoy the Ball!


We celebrated Chinese New Year's with Minnie and Mickey.


Zachary seemed to enjoy his first trip to Disney On Ice. Most of the time, he just sat on my lap watching the show and all of the people around us; however, he lit right up with Lilo and Stitch came on the ice with all of the fire dancers. Zachary stood up, started pointing and grunting and would not stop bouncing up and down. Lilo and Stitch was definitely his favorite part.


Even Mickey, Minnie, and the Gang made appearances at the Luau.


I am so glad that we were able to share this fun tradition with Zachary this year. Although he is too young to remember, I created fun memories with him today that I will always remember. He is such a sweet, easy-going guy. I am so blessed to have these fun experiences with him...and my family.


Thanks Grandma and Papa. We had so much fun today. We are so grateful to have these special experiences with you. You treat us so well. We appreciate all that you do for us to make our lives full of fun! We love you so much!

Happy St. Patrick's Day

Elizabeth has been so excited for St. Patrick's Day this year. She has been talking about it for weeks. This morning, when she woke up, she let me know that we have to wear green and we have to look out for any leprechauns.

For breakfast, Elizabeth insisted that she needed a green bowl and a green spoon. As a special treat, Elizabeth got to eat Lucky Charms. I never let her have it because she only eats the marshmallows. When we went to the fridge to get the milk...we noticed that a sneaky leprechaun turned our milk green!


When Elizabeth arrived at preschool today, Miss Krista informed her and her classmates, that a leprechaun snuck in during the night and messed up the room. Elizabeth let me know that there were papers everywhere and all of the chairs were turned on their sides. Apparently the leprechaun was looking for gold and overturned everything in order to find it.

Elizabeth is already looking forward to the next St. Patrick's Day. She is sure that she will catch the sneaky leprechauns next year.
