Should We Take This As A Sign?

Today I ran a couple of errands, including a stop at the drive-through at the bank to make a deposit. As we pulled up to the window, Elizabeth said "I'll have a quesadilla, a pizza, a medium french fry, and a diet coke."

Should Matt and I take this as a sign that we have been eating out too much lately?

You know you've had a rough night when...

• you spend 4 hours tossing and turning in your bed, before moving to the couch to see if that helps
• you consume an entire bottle of TUMS in hopes of some relief from your horrible heartburn
• you cough so hard that your stomach and back begin to ache
• you take cough medicine, only to begin the countdown of when you can take more cough medicine
• you end up spending the entire night watching 9 episodes of L.A. Ink
• you eat cough drop after cough drop...and still cough up a lung
  
• you use half a box of Puffs with Lotion...and you still cannot breathe through your nose
  
• your head hurts so much from sinus pressure that you wish that you could die
• your little girl wakes up crying at 4:00am...and you spend the next hour and a half trying to calm her down and comfort her
  
• your husband comes downstairs to get breakfast before going to work, and you still have not gotten any sleep
• in the morning you realize that if you got 20 minutes of sleep...it's a lot!

Here's hoping that tonight is much better...cause heaven knows it cannot get much worse.

Conversations with Elizabeth

Today Elizabeth has been a little naughty. She is not listening and definitely testing boundaries. At one point, she hit Matt. I looked her in the eyes and asked her why she hit Matt, she looked back at me and said, "I did it because I do not want baby brother to smell like dogs."

I was at a loss for words...what do you even say to that?

Freebairn Family Easter Egg Hunt

Today, Karla and Kelly hosted the annual Easter Egg Hunt. This has been a tradition for the Thayne's and Freebairn's for a really long time, and Karla has done a great job continuing this tradition with her grandchildren.

Unfortunately, Elizabeth is pretty sick so we were not able to attend today's festivities. I was so bummed because it is so fun to get together with all of the other grandchildren to participate in this fun tradition.

Oh well, I guess there is always next year...when we'll have two little munchkins hunting for eggs!

Prenatal Appointment--34 weeks

This week I had another prenatal appointment. Now that I am going to appointments every two weeks, it seems like I am at the doctor's all the time. I know that it is such a blessing to be able to have medical coverage, access to a doctor, and the reassurance that my sweet little boy is doing well...so I shouldn't complain.

I was a little worried about this week's appointment because I have been pretty stressed for the past week. I was concerned that my blood pressure was going to be a problem...but luckily everything is looking good.

• My blood pressure is 110/60
• Our little guy's heartbeat is in the 140's (which is great)
  
• I am measuring 34cm
• I have gained 3 pounds since my last appointment
  

I am so happy to know that everything is going well. We also talked about Pediatricians. I received a list of recommendations and plan on researching more about all of our different options.

Elizabeth is Sick

My sweet, little Elizabeth is sick. I hate seeing her so miserable. All she wants to do is lay around, sleep, and watch movies. I hope that she can get over what is ailing her so that she can be back to my spunky, silly, crazy, little girl soon!

An Embarassing Moment with Elizabeth...

Today I had a wonderfully embarrassing experience with Elizabeth. We were at Gardner Village when Elizabeth mentioned that she needed to use the restroom. We entered the restroom and Elizabeth sat down to "go potty". As we were in the bathroom, another woman entered the stall right next to ours. She immediately started to do her business. My sweet little Elizabeth in a very loud voice said...

"Hey Lady, Are you pooping...or just farting?"

I immediately whisper to Elizabeth that we do not ask people questions while we are in the bathroom. Elizabeth says, in the same loud voice...

"Why don't we ask questions when we are in the bathroom?"

I explain to Elizabeth that it is not nice to talk to people while we are in the bathroom. I told her that people don't like to talk about pooping and peeing. Elizabeth says, again, in the same loud voice...

"So you don't want me to ask the lady if she is pooping or farting?"

I tell Elizabeth "no", I don't want her to talk to the lady. Elizabeth says to me, in her loud voice...

"Well, can I at least ask her why she is being so loud?"

Oh my gosh! I wanted to crawl under a rock and die!

Bedding Arrived

I ordered Elizabeth's big girl bedding a couple of weeks ago...and have been anxiously waiting for it to arrive. I am so excited to get her room set up and decorated and the bedding is a big part of the process. When JC Penney called to say that it was here, I immediately ran over to pick it up. As I unpacked the large box that all of the items came in, I got more and more excited. I absolutely love the bedding that we picked and think that it is perfect for my sweet little girl's room.

Best of all, Elizabeth loves it too!

Disney On Ice

My parents bought tickets for Disney On Ice quite a while ago and we have been patiently waiting for the day of the show. Well, we are excited to say that the day has finally arrived. Elizabeth was so excited to get into her Snow White dress and head down to the Energy Solutions Arena.

I am so glad that Grandma and Papa bought me a seat to so that I could tag along for the fun. I always enjoy Disney productions. It has been a family tradition to attend the Disney On Ice shows and I am so glad that we are able to continue the tradition with Elizabeth.

We heard that there was a Princess pre-show event, so we headed down a little early to make sure we didn't miss out. We got to see Cinderella and Tiana. Elizabeth got so excited when they waved to her. I loved seeing the "magic" in her eyes. I will never forget the look on her face when she saw Cinderella for the first time.

Elizabeth went crazy when Mickey and his friends skated onto the ice.

We got to see the story of the Lion King. Elizabeth was very concerned when Simba lost his father. She has always been a tender-heart.

We also got to see the characters from Cars. When Lightening McQueen revved his engine, Elizabeth covered her ears and said he was being too loud!

Elizabeth was absolutely mesmerized with Tinkerbell. She did not look away, or move, the entire time Tinkerbell was on the ice. As Tinkerbell skated off the ice, Elizabeth broke into tears and said, "I cry for Tinkerbell!" It was the saddest thing ever. She was devastated.

During intermission, we snacked on pretzels and Diet Coke. Grandma even took Elizabeth to the merchandise booth to pick something out. Elizabeth was so excited to get a stuff animal Blaze from the Tinkerbell and the Lost Treasure movie. She for even more excited when she figured out that he lit up when you squeezed his belly!

After intermission, Mickey and Minnie returned to introduce us to more of their friends.

My favorite moment of the entire show was when Ariel entered the Ice. She skated on in her seashell bra and fins. Elizabeth looked at Ariel and then turned to me and said, "She's only got boobs on her! Someone needs to get her a dress!" I about fell out of my seat laughing. I seriously don't know where she comes up with these things.

The ending number was amazing. It brought tears to my eyes...but I'm sure being 7 1/2 months pregnant doesn't help. I love that I am able to share these moments with my sweet, little girl. She makes things so much more fun. I love watching things through her eyes and enjoying things along with her.

Talon's Birthday Party

Today we celebrated my nephew, Talon's first birthday! We had a great time and hope that Talon had a fun celebrating his big day! We had a nice dinner and Talon had fun opening all of his gifts!

We ended the night with yummy cake and ice cream. We are so glad that we were able to come and help celebrate!

Prenatal Appointment--32 weeks

Today I had another prenatal appointment. I love getting the opportunity to go and check on my little man. I love knowing that everything is going well and that I don't need to worry as much. At this point, with Elizabeth, I had an three appointments a week...including two ultrasounds. It was nice to be checked on so often. I look forward to my prenatal appointments because it is the only way that I know that everything is progressing on schedule.

This week I learned the following...

• My blood pressure is 122/80 (a little higher than it has been)
  
• Baby's heartbeat is in the 145 (perfect)
  
• I am measuring 32cm

We are going to keep a close eye on my blood pressure, just to make sure it does not continue to go up. Right now, it is not a problem...but we definitely do not want it to get higher. I will be relaxing and attempting to be stress-free for the next few weeks, so that we can get out little man here safe and sound.

Quattro Tour Duo Stroller

Since Baby #2 is on his way, I have wanted to get a double stroller. I have been watching all of the sales ads each week, and have been looking for a deal on the classifieds at ksl.com. Well today, I finally found a stroller in good condition, for a really good price. I am so excited.

We got the Quattro Tour Duo Stroller, which is the double version of the stroller that we already have. I love our current stroller and know that I will love this stroller. It is even French Roast, the same material as our car seat and current stroller.

This stroller is awesome because it is really compact, folds easily, and fits kids up to 50 pounds. It has reclining seats, 6 cup holders, and a huge storage basket. I love the handles, and the fact that it has stadium seating so the child in the back can see better over the front seat. 

One more thing checked off our list. We are almost ready for our little man to come!

Mammut Table and Chairs

We have been working hard on getting Elizabeth's big girl room ready before the baby comes. We have been shopping all over and have fallen-in-love with IKEA. We were there a couple of weeks ago and found this adorable table and the cutest little chairs.

My parents were so sweet and decided they wanted to buy the table and four chairs for Elizabeth's new room. Elizabeth was so excited and today we headed down to pick them up. Papa even came with us so he could help us load everything into the van!

Thanks Mom and Dad. This little set is going to look adorable in Elizabeth's room...and she already loves it! I think the huge grin on her face says it all.

Accident-Free

I am so proud of my sweet, little Elizabeth. She has done a great job with potty training and has officially been accident-free for one month. Let's hope that this streak continues!

Way to go Elizabeth!
