I am so proud of Matt. My heart is filled to overflowing. Today, Matt interviewed for a new position at Verizon Wireless. Whether he gets the position or not, I am so glad that Matt was able to step outside of his comfort-zone and apply for this position. He has always hated interviews. They make him extremely nervous. But today, he mustered up all the courage he had and completed his initial interview and was given a second interview!
We won't know about the position until next week but to me it almost doesn't matter. If he gets the job, I'll be thrilled...but I won't be any more proud of him than I am now. Matt faced his fear head-on and did great. He overcame something that was holding him back. I think that is pretty incredible!
Good luck Honey! I hope that they see in you what I see in you.

Princess Tea Party at the Hogle Zoo
Today, Elizabeth and I were able to attend a Princess Tea Party at The Hogle Zoo. I have been looking forward to spending the afternoon with my little princess...and Elizabeth has been looking forward to wearing her red princess dress!
When we arrived, we found the room had been decorated beautifully. There were animal print tablecloths, garland with flowers, and tulle surrounding the room. There were peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, mini muffins, and chocolate truffles waiting for us at our table. We even got to pick from Lemonade, Pink lemonade, and ice water for our drink.
Princess Amerah was so nice and took time with each of the girls at the tea party. She was so excited when Elizabeth mentioned that she would be having a birthday in the next couple of weeks. She even taught Elizabeth how a princess should hold her hands for a portrait!
After mingling with each of the little princesses, Princess Amerah shared a wonderful story with us. It was a story titled, Princess Amerah and the Magic Dress". It was a darling story about overcoming obstacles to become the princess you were always meant to be. What a great message. I loved it!
It was so cute to see Elizabeth soaking in each and every word. When Princess Amerah would ask a question, Elizabeth was always one of the first to shout out the answer. Elizabeth did each and every action and was totally enthralled with the story.
Princess Amerah sang the most beautiful song. It had a great message about being caring and kind. It talked about how it doesn't matter where you are from, or what kind of clothes you wear, the only thing that matters is how you treat others. It sends a message that little girls can be whatever they want to be! Click on this link to listen to the song, "You Can Be A Princess, Too!". It totally brought tears to my eyes...I know, I am such a baby!
After listening to story time, Elizabeth got to make a beautiful bracelet before we headed off to explore the zoo!
It was such a beautiful day. I had an amazing time just walking around and talking with my little girl. I am so blessed to be able to do fun things with Elizabeth. I will remember times like this forever, and I hope that Elizabeth will too!
Elizabeth wanted to make sure that we saw the elephants. They are her favorite. She was so happy when she discovered that the elephants were out, walking around, and playing the in the stream.
Elizabeth is such a fun, sweet, crazy girl. I love spending time with her. She always comes up with the funniest things. There is never a dull moment when she is around. Right now, Elizabeth is going through an inquisitive phase. She asks about a million questions about everything. There is not a moment that goes by that she is not asking something.
As we walked through the zoo, many people commented on Elizabeth's beautiful dress. She even had a couple of little girls come up and ask if she was a real princess. I loved seeing the joy on Elizabeth's face as everyone fussed about her.
As you can see, she mastered the proper princess pose that Princess Amerah taught her!
As we were on the way to see the giraffes, we found the rhinoceros' out-and-about. Elizabeth was so excited to finally see a rhinoceros up-close.
After making our way through the zoo, we finally made it to the giraffes. Elizabeth thought is was crazy and wanted to know why the giraffe was sitting down. I simply answered, "Because he is tired." Seriously, after answering 500 questions a day, my answers get pretty simplified.
More of those princess poses.
We stopped for a yummy ice cream cone before heading to the gift shop. Elizabeth was so excited that she finally got some ice cream. She asks every time we go, but I never let her have it because Zachary cannot have it. Since Zachary was not with us...I surprised her!
At the gift shop, Elizabeth was able to pick something out with money that Grandma and Papa had given her. She is such a sweet girl. Not only did she get something for herself, a fun purple monkey, she spent some of her money on Zachary so that he could have something too! Elizabeth must have been listening to Princess Amerah's message. Such a proud mommy moment!
What a fun afternoon. I am so happy to be able to get away for some one-on-one time with my sweet, little girl. Seriously, I am one lucky mommy to have such an amazing daughter. I hope that we can get away to do some more fun things together soon!

My Boys
Have I mentioned lately that I absolutely love these two boys?! It makes my heart swell each time I see Matt and Zachary snuggling together. I am overcome with gratitude for these two guys! I am so blessed!
Today, as I am cooking dinner, I hear the sweetest, little giggles. As I sat there and listened my heart was filled. I came around the corner to take a peek at what was causing such a wonderful sound, and I found Matt kisses Zachary's cheek.
Each time Matt would kiss Zachary, Zachary would giggle. Matt would stop kissing him and Zachary would place his hand on Matt's cheek and pull him close for more kisses. Sweetest Thing Ever!
I love how Zachary would look up at Matt with such adoration between each kiss. I love moments like this. I am so grateful that I was able to experience this tonight!
I cannot say it enough...I love my boys!

Sleeping Bags
My mom and dad got the kids the most darling little sleeping bags for Christmas. The kids use them daily and love to snuggle into them while watching a movie. It makes my heart so happy to see my little munchkins laying next to each other, comfortable, and content!
Elizabeth's sleeping bag has a puppy pillow.
Zachary's pillow is a bear.
I love that when the kids are done, we can roll up the sleeping bag and stuff it into the animal pillow. Too cute!

Brand New Shoes
This week, I began my search for the perfect pair of shoes for Zachary. He has been wearing Pedipeds since the day he was born, and sadly, his feet have grown and they don't make Pedipeds in his size. I cannot believe my little man is growing up and now needs "big boy" shoes instead of leather-bottom crib style shoes.
My mom and I searched high and low...and found two darling pairs of shoes.
It was so cute to see him try to walk in them for the first time. He walked really slowly and lifted his leg up really high with each step. It took him about 2 minutes to get use to them...then there was no stopping him. When I tried to take them off he yelled, "No!". Too funny.

Chuck E. Cheese with Meme
Meme has wanted to take the kids to Chuck E. Cheese for quite some time now, and this weekend we were finally able to make it happen! Elizabeth has been so excited...and Zachary got really excited once we arrived. It was so cute to see him so happy. He would run from ride to ride, and yell, "more, more" once the ride would stop. We have been to Chuck E. Cheese before, but this time he was really into it!
Elizabeth enjoyed the rides too...
...BUT she was more about the games this time. She would get so excited when the lights would flash and tickets would come out. Meme and Elizabeth really liked the Water Cannon game. Elizabeth thought it was so cool that she kept winning. Little did she know that Meme's water cannon was broken!
When Zachary saw how much fun Elizabeth was having, he wanted to join in. Elizabeth is such a good big sister and showed Zachary how to play!
Grandma and Meme were so great at helping him too!
When Zachary saw Chuck E. walking around he screamed, "Go!" and started pulling me towards Chuck E. Cheese. I love that he is not afraid and went right up to him. It was so fun to see him to excited!
One thing that the whole family loves, and can enjoy together, is Skee Ball. Here Grandma, Meme, Elizabeth, and Zachary are all trying to get the highest score!
Zachary does a great job of rolling the ball, catching it, and rolling it again. He can play for hours on just one ball!
Elizabeth is a little unpredictable. She is still learning at what point to release the ball. When it is her turn, we all usually stand back a little!
We ended our trip to Chuck E. Cheese with a yummy treat. Zachary loved watching Chuck E. Cheese and the band perform.
We are so glad that we could get together and enjoy an afternoon at Chuck E. Cheese with Meme and Grandma. We are surely spoiled. Thanks for a great time!
