Sleepy Head

After getting home from the park, I sat Zachary in his highchair, gave him a couple crackers and started to prepare lunch. As I turned around to check on him, this is what I saw...

My little Zachary had fallen asleep waiting for his lunch! Needless to say, I brought him right up to bed so that he could stretch out and get comfortable. Poor little guy...I guess he played a bit too hard today!

Beautiful for Jesus!

Elizabeth and I had the opportunity to go and clean our church building this morning. Elizabeth was excited when I told her that we were going to go do service at our church. She immediately ran downstairs and packed a backpack with some toys, a snack, and a water bottle.

Then she went upstairs to get dressed. When she returned she was wearing a pink shirt, a denim skirt with a blue tutu on top, a long necklace and flip flops. She asked me how she looked and said, "I am wearing this skirt and my necklace because I want to look beautiful for Jesus!" Talk about melt my heart!

Once at the church, we picked up garbage from all of the flower beds and the parking lot and swept all of the sidewalks. Elizabeth was such a big helper. She helped me look for garbage and did a great job of sweeping leaves off of the sidewalk.

I am so grateful for these experiences with my sweet, little girl!

Playground with Savannah and Luke

Once a week, Elizabeth, Zachary and I have been getting together with some friends for a little play group. My friend Debbie has a cute little girl who is 2 1/2 and a little boy who is 10 months old. We usually take turns at each others houses; however, today we decided to walk to the park because the weather has been so nice.

Elizabeth and Savannah had so much fun running around the park together. Elizabeth loves that she can be the boss and that Savannah will follow her where ever she goes.

Our cute little guys mostly sat in their strollers, snacking and watching the girls play. I love that Zachary and Luke are only six months apart. I am hoping that they will be best friends someday!

At one point, I looked over and saw Elizabeth pushing Savannah on the swings. What a good friend!

I am so glad that Elizabeth and Savannah get along so well together. We always look forward to our weekly play date!

Thanks Debbie, Savannah, and Luke...for being such wonderful friends!

Donuts for Lunch

Today we pulled out our donut maker and made some more yummy donuts. This time daddy was home to help us so things went a little more smoothly. Matt did a great job of filling the donut maker and making the donuts, while Elizabeth and I prepped the glaze and toppings!

Elizabeth was so excited when it was finally time to sit down and eat our yummy, homemade donuts!

Don't they look delicious? Matt did an amazing job of glazing each donut evenly. Yes...they tasted as good as they look!

Elizabeth loved all of the toppings! She had so much fun decorating her donuts!

Even Matt got in on the decorating action!

Even though Zachary did not get to decorate a donut...he still had fun eating them!

Then Matt discovered and taught us something amazing. If you put the toppings on your plate, you can press your donut into the toppings, and they stick to the donut so much better.

Elizabeth did a great job of decorating her donuts. However, she did an even better job of decorating her hand!

Zachary could not shove the donuts in his face fast enough. He was double-fisting it and eating them as fast as he could. I am so glad that he loved them!

Zachary finished up with a big sippy cup full of coconut milk, while Elizabeth and Matt quenched their thirst with a glass of milk. I, on the other hand, had a big glass of Diet Coke!

After we were done, we realized it was after 1:00pm and we hadn't had lunch. Matt said to me, "I guess we had donuts for lunch." Sounds like a perfect lunch to me!

Indoor Play

Since it has been so hot outside, we decided to bring our outdoor toys inside. We converted our loft into a makeshift playroom...and the kids loved it! Now they could play and be cool at the same time! Genius!

Happy Birthday Uncle Bill!

Today we celebrated my Uncle Bill's birthday with a Pool Party. The nice thing about Summer birthdays is that the pools are open! Meme graciously hosted the party at her home and let us use her pool. Elizabeth loved swimming...and hopefully Uncle Bill had fun too!

Zachary wasn't too interested in swimming. Instead he wanted to sit in the shade, eat pretzels, and watch all of the fun! He would wave at Elizabeth as she swam by...but didn't really want to go into the pool.

I have no idea what Zachary was thinking in this picture but I love how he is holding his foot while resting it on his stroller tray. What a crazy guy!

Happy Birthday Uncle Bill! We love you and hope that you had a great day!

Lollipop

A couple of weeks ago, Elizabeth and I went to the bank to cash all her piggy bank money so that she could buy her doll. While at the teller, Elizabeth noticed that they had suckers and wanted to get Zachary one...since he wasn't getting a doll. I thought that it was so sweet of her to think of him. We'll today, we finally remember to give it to him... and he loved it!
