60th Wedding Anniversary Party

Yesterday, we gathered together as a family to celebrate Grandma and Grandpa Great's 60th Wedding Anniversary. It is just amazing to me that Grandma and Grandpa Great have been married for 60 years and together for even longer. They are such an inspiration to Matt and Me!

Grandma and Grandpa Great thought it would be fun to celebrate with a Pool Party at Karla and Kelly's house. They love watching their great-grandchildren enjoying the sunshine and the water.

It was great to sit in the shade and chat while the kids played. I always enjoy spending time with Grandma Great, Grandpa Great, and Aunt Betty. It was neat to see so many of the family together. Jared and Noah were able to come down from Logan and Melanie was able to join us too!

We had a delicious lunch! Everyone brought pot luck items so we had quite the selection of yummy food. Elizabeth and Zachary looked so cute sitting at the miniature picnic table!

Zachary's LOVED all of the yummy candies and cookies!

After lunch, the kids continued playing on the swing set, and with all of the water toys. They sure are gonna sleep good tonight!

Tyler was so brave and tried the slide. He even went down by himself a couple of times!

Aunt Melanie brought Trinadee, Samantha and Matthew's sweet little girl. She is so darling. We had such fun passing her around so that everyone could snuggle her!

We presented Grandma and Grandpa Great with an heirloom edition of The Book of Mormon. It is leather-bound, embossed, and has a place for them to record their family history inside.

I loved when Zachary came out of the house wearing his cape and mask. He was welding his sword and fighting off all of the bad guys. He has such a great time chasing Noah all over the yard. Noah was such a good sport for playing along. He would play dead when Zachary would stab him and would run in terror as Zachary chased him. So much fun! Zachary had a huge smile on his face the entire time!

What a fun day. I am so glad that we could gather together to celebrate Grandma and Grandpa Great! What an amazing accomplishment! 60 years is incredible. I am so grateful for their example in my life!

Happy Birthday Uncle Bill!

Today we celebrated my Uncle Bill's birthday with a Pool Party. The nice thing about Summer birthdays is that the pools are open! Meme graciously hosted the party at her home and let us use her pool. Elizabeth loved swimming...and hopefully Uncle Bill had fun too!

Zachary wasn't too interested in swimming. Instead he wanted to sit in the shade, eat pretzels, and watch all of the fun! He would wave at Elizabeth as she swam by...but didn't really want to go into the pool.

I have no idea what Zachary was thinking in this picture but I love how he is holding his foot while resting it on his stroller tray. What a crazy guy!

Happy Birthday Uncle Bill! We love you and hope that you had a great day!

Our Little Fish

This week, as part of all of our Fourth of July festivities, we went swimming at MeMe's pool. In past years, Elizabeth has not really enjoyed swimming...but this year she loves it! It makes me happy to see her so happy.

With Grandma and Uncle Bill's help, Elizabeth did really good getting all around the pool. She loves to lay on her tummy and kick while they lead her around. She always gets so proud and yells at everyone, "Watch Me!".

You can tell that Elizabeth just adores her grandma. She totally trusts her and feels totally at ease in her arms.

While at the pool today, my Mom taught Elizabeth something new. My mom showed Elizabeth how you can kick of the edge of the pool and float backwards. This is Elizabeth's new favorite trick...as long as she doesn't get water on her face.

One of the times, Elizabeth kicked off from the wall when my Mom wasn't expecting her too. Elizabeth's head went under the water a little bit before my Mom caught her. My Mom tried to laugh it off and said, "That was good!" Elizabeth looked at my Mom and said, "That was not good!"

Zachary seemed to enjoy the sunshine, while sitting with Matt and me. I cannot wait until next year when we can take him into the pool too!
