Tea Party with Kena and Kate

Elizabeth and I have been looking forward to today for quite some time now. We planned a tea party with Kena and Kate a couple of weeks ago and have been counting down until today. When I told Elizabeth that today was the day of the tea party, she immediately put on the dress that I knit her, then got Lily dressed in her matching knitted dress. They looked so adorable together.

Elizabeth and I arrived at the Georgell Doll Shop in Gardner Village and were so excited when Kena and Kate walked in. We were shown to our table on the back patio and the girls were given aprons and hats to wear.

The table was decorated so cute. Each girl had a place setting, along with their food selections, a fairy doll, and a place setting for their doll. 

Each girl chose the sandwich platter, along with cupcakes and cookies for dessert. The sandwich platter came with a small loaf of pink bread, Nutella spread, peanut butter, butter, and honey. It also included applesauce and raisins.

It was so cute to watch Kena, Kate, and Elizabeth interacting with their dolls. At one point, Elizabeth turned to Lily and said, "Lily are you having so much fun because I am!". Each girl was so good to feed their dolls and offer them drinks.

Elizabeth, Kena, and Kate all took turns pouring from the tea pot. They did such a great job of sharing the lemonade.

They look absolutely adorable sipping from their tiny tea cups. This was such a fun afternoon. I am so glad that we were able to get together.

After the tea party, the girls went on a "Fairy Seek". They were given clues to follow and went around trying to solve each of the riddles. Kena did a great job of reading all of the clues. I loved watching them wander the gardens looking for each of the answers.

One of the clues was: Find a Fairy Door. What does the sign on the fairy door say?

Another one was: There is a fairy on a bench. What color is her dress?

My favorite was about a birds nest with a baby fairy. We were suppose to see how many eggs there were in the nest.

Before leaving, each girl got to ring the fairy bell and make a wish. Elizabeth rang the bell and said, "I wish I was a princess!".

You already are sweetheart. Thanks for spending the afternoon with me doing something fun!

Ellie's Birthday Party

Elizabeth was lucky enough to be invited to her friend, Ellie's birthday party. We had so much fun shopping for her gift and every morning, Elizabeth asked if it was time to go to the party.

The party began with fun, party games. The kids got to play musical chairs. Elizabeth was a little disappointed when she came in second place...but quickly perked back up when the next game began.

The kids also got to play a musical game, where they walked in a circle while the music played, then had to find a number to stand on when the music stopped. If their number was drawn...they got a fun prize. Elizabeth really liked this game, especially because her number got drawn quite a few times.

Next was a game where each kid received a balloon. Ellie's dad counted to three and then everyone sat on their balloon. The kid with the last balloon to pop won the game!

The last game was duck, duck, goose. This is Ellie's favorite game and she was very excited. Elizabeth; however, was not into playing. She sat on the sidelines and when Ellie's mom said, "Elizabeth, don't you want to come play?" Elizabeth said, "No thanks. I think I'm gonna sit this one out!" Seriously, where does she get this stuff!

Ellie is a darling, little girl. She is so much fun to be around. Elizabeth is lucky to have such a great friend!

After Ellie opened her presents, Elizabeth received a goodie bag full of fun things. There were stickers, crayons, a coloring book, and candy!

There was even one of these! Elizabeth had no idea what it was but after a little bit of thought, decided it must be something that you say, "doot doot do doooo!" into. What a crazy girl!

We ended the party with yummy cupcakes. Elizabeth had so much fun. We hope that Ellie had a great birthday!

Mother-Daughter Ice Cream Social

Tonight, Elizabeth and I were able to attend a Mother-Daughter Ice Cream Social at our Ward. I have been looking forward to my night out with Elizabeth. We don't get as much one-on-one time together anymore.

As part of the event, we got to create and decorate a hat for the hat parade. Elizabeth was very into this activity...me, not so much! Elizabeth loved picking out decorations and gluing them onto a ribbon that we then tied around the hat she brought from home!

Elizabeth colored a beautiful picture and made two fruit loop necklaces, one for me and one for herself!

On a side note, I have to say that I had nothing to do with Elizabeth's outfit. She has become quite independent and wants to dress herself. This is what she came up with for tonight...

After completing the crafts, and participating in the hat parade, Elizabeth enjoyed a yummy bowl of ice cream. There were so many different toppings.

I am so glad that Elizabeth and I were able to get away and enjoy an evening together. It was so nice to be able to just focus on her. Hopefully we can sneak away again sometime real soon!
