We spelled out all kinds of words and sang the Alphabet Song quite a few times.
Once we were able to get her out of the bath tub, Matt took her outside for a quick ride in her new wagon. She had a huge smile on her face the whole time! She even like it when Matt ran really fast and pulled her.
Next, we headed over to IHOP for some pancakes. Elizabeth LOVES pancakes. She always asks us to pour some syrup on top. She even wants a little "puddle" on her plate to dunk her pancakes in. It is so cute...and she does a great job!
Once our waitress learned that it was Elizabeth's birthday, she had some of the other staff come and sing Happy Birthday. Elizabeth loved that they clapped as they made their way through the restaurant. While they were singing, Elizabeth just stared at everybody with a grin on her face. Once the song was over, she clapped and said "Yeah!".
After a short nap, Elizabeth, Matt and I went to South Towne Mall for rides on the Merry-Go-Round (or as Elizabeth calls it "A Wee".) She loves the Merry-Go-Round and starts to get excited as we exit the freeway at 106th South. She laughs...and laughs...and laughs as we get out of the car. Today was no exception. As soon as we got off the freeway she started screaming "A Wee". Since it was her birthday, we let her ride the Merry-Go-Round five times! Matt and I took turns riding with her. It was so fun to see her so happy!
Before heading to Grandma and Papa's house, we stopped for some ice cream. Elizabeth took the first bite, smiled, and said "Yummy Yummy!". It was darling. She is such a little character.
At Grandma's house, we went for more rides in the wagon. Grandma pulled Elizabeth around the entire block. Elizabeh had to say hi to everyone that we passed, and got so excited whenever there was a dog. She would sign dog and then yell "puppy"!
Elizabeth received the cutest little tricycle from Grandma and Papa. She had fun "riding" it around the driveway. She needs to grow a couple of more inches before she can reach the pedals on her own...but she was still really excited.
After we convinced her to leave the bike outside and to come inside, we ate some pizza and had some candy and treats!
It was a perfect day. I am so glad that we were able to spend the day together as a family...and that we were able to visit Grandma and Papa. Elizabeth is such a blessing in our lives and it was so good to be able to celebrate her special day!
