Kamille's Knitting Retreat

This weekend I was able to attend Kamille's Fall Knitting Retreat. I always look forward to this event. Kamille hosts one twice a year and it is always a blast. I love getting together with friends and knitting for three days straight. We stay up late, eat a ton, and laugh way too much!

On the last day of the event, Kamille hosts a luncheon at Archibald's restaurant. We always have a great time. Kamille always does such a great job of taking care of us. Each and every person leaves with a fun gift bag. This year I received, a Crochet Me amigurumi calendar, a Knit Scene disc with 5 issues of Knit Scene Magazine, gloves, a Lantern Moon bookmark, and a project bag with the pattern and Alpaca Grande yarn to make a beautiful chunky cowl.

I am grateful for these fun experiences. It is nice to get away every once in a while to play and enjoy time knitting with friends. I have to give a big shout out to Matt for taking care of Elizabeth and Zachary while I was off playing!

Kamille's Knitting Retreat

I just spent the last three days relaxing...and eating...and knitting...and chatting...and eating...and visiting with friends...and did I mention eating! This weekend was Kamille's semi-annual Knitting Retreat. I had so much fun and got a couple of projects completed. It was so nice to relax, chat with friends, and knit. It was a much needed break...now I am totally recharged!

Kamille always does a great job planning, and executing, this fun event. She always has yummy food, delicious snacks, and fun projects. This time there were eight projects to choose from, and although I just elected to work on projects that I had already started, the projects were a hit. Now that I have completed some of my "works in progress", I plan to begin a couple of the projects that were featured at the retreat.

All-in-all, it was a great weekend. I really enjoyed getting to know everyone a little bit better. I made some new friends and strengthened relationships that I already had. I always enjoy attending the retreat...and I cannot wait until the next one in the Spring!

Knitting Retreat

I just got home from 3 days and 2 night of pure knitting. Kamille held her semi-annual Knitting Retreat this weekend. Thanks to Matt and my mom and dad...I was able to go! I had so much fun chatting with the ladies, eating yummy food, and knitting my little heart out.

During the day, classes we held in the loft at Kamille's store. At night, we would head to the Residence Inn Marriott, in Sandy, for more knitting fun. We watched movies and shared ideas. I had such a good time.

I took two classes during the Knitting Retreat. I fell in love with the Lace Scarf. I didn't think that I would enjoy it as much as I did. Jean Wallberg designed a beautiful pattern and had a wonderful teaching style. She was very informational and encouraging. I really enjoyed her class. The scarf is created by knitting twelve different 5 inch patterns. We used Ella Rae Lace Merino yarn and size US 5 straight knitting needles. Absolutely beautiful!

I also enjoyed making a pair of Short Row Felted Slippers. These slippers are created by following an interested design. Very easy to do. Laura Vance did a great job of explaining what to do. The pattern for the slippers is in a book called Felt Frenzy. We used 150 yards of worsted weight wool, US 8 straight needles, and US 8 circular needles.

I cannot wait to attend the next Knitting Retreat in September! Too much Fun...I cannot miss it!
