Happy 3rd of July!

Today we celebrated the Fourth of July with the Freebairn's. Karla and Kelly always create such a fun day for us. Each year, we begin our celebration at their Ward Breakfast. This year they served breakfast burritos, scones with homemade butter, fruit, milk and juice. Elizabeth didn't want to eat because she was excited to play with her cousins. So after convincing her to eat one bite (yes, all I could get her to eat was one bite) she got to go and play on the slide and the swings.


Zachary was such a trooper and sat in his car seat for most of the breakfast. He got a little reprieve when Jack threw sand in his car seat and we had to take him out to clean it. I cannot wait until next year, when he'll be running around with the rest of the cousins!


While we were playing, a lady walked up to us and offered sunglasses for each of the kids. It was such a nice surprise. Elizabeth picked pink for herself and immediately put them on. We didn't want Zachary to feel left out, so he had to have a pair too!


After the breakfast, we headed to Karla and Kelly's house to watch the annual neighborhood parade. Many of the children from the neighborhood dress-up and decorate their bikes, wagons, and scooters to make the trek from the local elementary school to the neighborhood park. Elizabeth loved laying on the blanket and waving to all of the kids.


Elizabeth and Zachary are so blessed to have such wonderful cousins. Kena, Kate, and Jack are always so great to play with Elizabeth and to share with her. I am so glad that our children have such good examples in their lives. I hope that they all can remain good friends.


You can tell that Kena has had lots of practice with being a big sister. She is always so great with Zachary.


My little Elizabeth and Zachary. I love them so much. I am so lucky to be able to make such fun memories with the two of them.


Later in the evening, Karla and Kelly pulled out all of their water toys, including their swimming pool and slides. Elizabeth was so brave and went down the slide, into the water, all by herself. It amazes me that she can slide into a pool full of water, but she cannot get a drop of water on her face while she is in the tub. She is a crazy girl!
