As we walked in, we saw some crafts set-up in the lobby. Elizabeth was so excited and immediately wanted to make a shark headband. She had fun coloring, cutting, and gluing her project!
Zachary even participated. He did a great job coloring his shark.
Elizabeth had lots of fun playing all of the games that were available. The aquarium did a really good job of coming up with some great things for the kids to do.
We had a great time just walking around the aquarium, looking at all of the tanks. I could not believe how big this lobster was. He was HUGE! Elizabeth loved seeing the "Nemos" and Zachary had a great time being a little observer.
Since the frogs are our favorites, we HAD to go see them...more than once! I swear my kids could sit and watch the frogs all day long!
Elizabeth is growing up too fast! Now, as we walk around the aquarium she wants to interact with all of the displays and wants me to read every sign to her. Needless to say, it takes us a lot longer to make our way around the aquarium.
Since we were making a day out of it, we decided it would be fun to participate in all of the activities. We were able to watch the Mudskippers and Archerfish feedings. The Archerfish and pretty amazing. The handlers placed their food on a branch and from the water, the Archerfish "spit" a stream of water that knocks the food into the water! We also got to see the stingrays and the sharks being fed. While we were at the Penguin display, the penguins were being crazy. They would jump into the water, swim around really fast and then immediately jump out of the water...only to jump back in and do it all again. Elizabeth and Zachary were so excited watching all of the action. We even went to story time, where an aquarium employee read a fun book about sharks.
I am such a lucky mom to be able to have these fun experiences with my kids. I love spending time with Elizabeth and Zachary.
After stopping for a snack at the Calypso Cafe, we headed home. All-in-all, we had a great day. Best of all the kids fell asleep in the car and had a long nap when we got home!
