We absolutely love going to the Hogle Zoo...especially when they are hosting a fun event. Today we were able to attend a Teddy Bear Picnic! Elizabeth and Zachary were able to bring their teddy bears to the zoo and participate in some fun activities. Elizabeth really likes crafts and was so excited when she saw that they were making lion puppets. She did a great job of gathering all the supplies, gluing down all of the parts, and drawing on the lion's mouth!
Elizabeth has been looking forward to the "teddy bear check-up" since I told her about it a couple of weeks ago. As we walked around the zoo, she would ask everyone if they knew where the teddy bear doctors were. She was so excited when we came around a bend...and saw the exam tables all set up and ready to go.
After listening to their heart beat, checking their tummy, ears, and eyes...we are happy to report that Elizabeth and Zachary's teddy bears received a clean bill of health. The doctor ordered that Zachary and Elizabeth give their bears at least 10 hugs a day to help keep them healthy!
We ate our lunch together before walking around to look at all of the animals. I love how Zachary has two chicken nuggets stacked on each other...and yes, he ate them like that!
Zachary was so adorable and snuggled his teddy bear all throughout the zoo. What a sweet, little guy!
While waiting for the elephant show, Elizabeth and Zachary were able to participate in an African band. They each got instruments, and along with the other kids in attendance, made quite the racket!
The elephant show was great. We learned a lot about elephants and what the zookeepers do to take care of them. It was fun to see some of the tricks that the elephants have learned to do!
