It was interesting to see how Elizabeth reacted to this lesson. She got pretty scared and cried, "I don't want to die and go in a tomb!" After a little reassurance, and some more discussion on the topic, Elizabeth felt much better.
As part of our Family Home Evening we colored Easter Eggs. Elizabeth was so excited and was able to do a lot of it without help this year. She did a great job of holding the egg really carefully and dunking it into the colored water. It was so fun to see how excited she got when a white egg went in and a pink, blue, yellow, or green egg came out.
Elizabeth is at such a fun age. She gets so excited about the littlest things. She looks forward to doing fun activities and loves when Daddy is home to do the activities with us!
Little Zachary took a nap while we colored eggs. He did not get to participate because he is allergic to eggs. However, we woke him up in time to make Rice Krispie treats! We just substituted the butter for non-dairy butter and Zachary was then able to have them. We made our treats egg-shaped by stuffing the Rice Krispie mixture into a plastic Easter Egg. Elizabeth was so excited and screamed each and every time! It was hilarious. We thought it would lose some excitement after a while, but she screamed with excitement every single time!
Zachary seemed to have a fun time too! He didn't want to touch the Rice Krispie mixture, but was more than happy to sit on the counter and eat marshmallows from a plastic egg!
I had such a great time tonight. I love spending time with my family. I am so glad that we were able to talk about Easter and about Jesus' sacrifice for us. There was a warm, joyful spirit in our home tonight. I am extremely thankful for moments like these!
