Elizabeth has learned so much, changed so much and has grown so much over the past year. She definitely has gone from a toddler to a little girl.
Here are a few things about Elizabeth...
She is very independent and has to do everything for herself. If you try and help, she will tell you "I can do it myself!".
She is very opinionated and will tell you exactly what is on her mind.
She can count to ten all by herself.
She loves to sing songs. Her favorites include:
- Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star
- Child of God
- The Itsy Bitsy Spider
- The ABC's
- Under the Sea from the Little Mermaid, although all she sings is "Under the Sea" over and over again
She is great at sharing and will even share her candy. When we open a package of candy, she always goes around and offers every single person in the room a piece...even strangers!
She is very excited about her baby brother. She continually tells me that she is going to share all of her toys, let him sleep in her crib (because she has a big girl bed), and sing songs to him.
She loves to eat chicken nuggets, macaroni and cheese, pears (with Papa), bananas, apples, grapes, grilled cheese sandwiches, french fries, and carrots.
She still has a hard time saying the letter "L". Anytime there is an "L" in a word, she replaces it with something else...usually a "Y".
She hates green beans (she tells me they are for babies), meat (she tells me she needs to get bigger before she can eat it), and chocolate milk.
She has great manners and is always polite. She is really good about saying "Please" and "Thank You" She even says "Thank you so much!". Most times she says it on her own without any reminders. She also says "Bless You" when anyone sneezes and "Excuse Me" when she needs to get by. My favorite though, is when she says "Good Bye. Have a sweet dream!".
She loves movies, and would watch them all day long if we would let her. She loves Monsters Inc., Toy Story, and Finding Nemo. Her favorite TV shows are: The Backyardigans, Dora the Explorer, and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.
She tells me she loves me at least ten times a day. It makes me feel so good when she walks up to me and says "Mommy, I love you.". She also says "I love you all the time!". Too cute!
She loves to dance and has some really cute dance moves. Matt calls it her "monkey dance" because most of the time, she sways from side to side with her hands raised above her head.
She says her name "yisabess".
She has turned into somewhat of a girly girl. Just recently she started to like dressing up and playing with costume jewelry. Although, she still will not leave a "pretty" in her hair.
She has been known to walk up to me and say "Mommy, you are so beautiful!". Just today, she walked up to Matt and said "How are you beautiful?"
She is potty-trained and has done a really good job. I can count the number of accidents she has had on one hand. She still has pull-ups at night but most of the time wakes up dry. For the first couple of weeks during training, we would give her prizes and make a big deal when she went to the potty...now, she just goes on her own without any fuss.
She is still small for her age. Most times, when we are out, people ask me how old she is because she talks so well. She currently wears 24 month shirts and 18 month pants. What she lacks in stature...she sure makes up with personality.
She does not "shut up". From the minute she wakes up, until the time she goes to bed...she does not stop talking. She will not let anyone else get a word in...and goes to great lengths to make sure that we are all paying attention to her. This is something that we are definitely working on!
She loves going to church and asks if we can go every time we pass our ward building. She gets a little clingy when I leave her in Nursery but she does great once I am gone. When I come back to get her, she runs to me...gives me a hug...and tells her teachers "My mommy came back!". As we walk home, Elizabeth is already asking if she can go back to Nursery again.
She loves her Papa, and loves to tease her Papa. She always tells Papa, "You're not my friend!" but within a few minutes they are best buds again.
She has a sweet and loving personality. Anytime she hears someone crying, she gets so concerned and wants to know what is wrong with them. While Matt or I are sick, she will bring us candy, toys and blankets to make us feel better. If you say that you don't feel good, she is right there with a "kissy" to make it all better.
She loves toys and is getting really good about entertaining herself. She love Little People play sets, The Littlest Pet Shop sets, Play-doh, puzzles, and babies. She is a great little mommy and takes such good care of all of her dolls.
She is great at going to bed. She will walk upstairs, get herself into her pajamas, and get right into bed without fussing. She loves when Matt reads her a bedtime story and she will not lay down until I give her a snuggle and sing "Child of God". She sleeps through the night and will not leave her room until Matt or I come to get her. Currently, her bedtime is 9:00pm and she will sleep until 9:30am-10:00am.
She is crazy and LOVES to jump. We have to really watch her because she is fearless and will jump on anything. She loves to climb on Matt and wrestle with him. We can only do it for a couple of minutes, though, because she gets pretty wild.
She is so much fun. She is a happy girl who loves to be the center-of-attention. She has to be where everyone else is and always wants to know what we are doing. She is energetic and happy, which makes me so glad. I love to hear her laugh. She still gets the hiccups every time she giggles.
Elizabeth...I hope you know that your mommy and daddy love you so much. You are our world. You bring us so much joy and happiness. You make life worth living. You are such a blessing to us. Our hearts are so full and we are so happy to be able to go through this life and experience things with you. We could not love you more!
